Onions and Peppers and Sausage...OH MY!
Often in mommy groups, we share tips and trades that can be helpful or that we ourselves enjoy. One mom in particular was always talking about how she was eating a combination of peppers, onions and sausage. So me being me had to make it my own and born was deliciousness.
I make in a big batch so honestly your quantity of veggies is to your discretion.
What you need:
1 package of Chicken Sausage (I like the apple, gouda and chicken sausage from Costco)
^(cut in half inch slices)
1-2 sweet onions (cut in inch pieces)
2-4 sweet peppers (cut in inch pieces)
1 tablespoon of minced garlic
a tsp garlic powder
a tsp chili powder
a tsp ground mustard
a tsp of paprika
5 spritzes of liquid Amino Acids
Frank's Buffalo or Tabasco Chipotle (your choice how hot)
2 tsps olive oil
*apple (optional) (cut in half inch pieces)
___________________________________________
In a non stick skillet, heat the olive oil and add in the onions, garlic and peppers...and cook until the soft or onions look translucent. Then add in your seasonings and sauces and cook for about 10 minutes. Finally add in your sausage and *apple before you let cook for an additional 10 minutes.
Continually stir to make sure that everything is cooking evenly.
You can eat just as is or you can plate over brown rice.
If doing the 21 Day Fix:
1.5 cups =
1 red, 2 green, 1/4 purple, 1 spoon (and if you put over rice, 1 or 2 yellows, depending on how much you want)
